The actress from Bengali film industry better known for her tragic roles, Sandhya Roy was born on 11 th April, 1941 in Nabadwip. She lost her parents and married to Tarun Majumdar. She debuted from the film Mamlar Fol as a crowd but in 1957for the film Antariksha as a lead. Some of her famous projects are Sreeman Pritwiraj, Phuleahwari, Darar Kirti, Palanka etc. she won the BFJA award for Nimantran (1972, Sangsar Simante (1976) and Teen Adhyay (as supporting role, 1969). She became the member of Parliament from 2014 and supported the AITC party since 2014.
